If you already own a belt, we recommend measuring your current belt on the tightest setting you use to give you the circumference of the belt at the setting you usually use. If you do not have a belt then please measure your waist where the belt will sit (which is normally just above the navel), with your abdominal muscles braced. Please do not use your trouser waist measurement as this will not be accurate for the belt measurement. We typically recommend a belt where you fall in the middle of the sizing guide, as this will allow you to adjust the belt in either direction depending on your preference of fit, what exercise you are using the belt for, should your bodyweight change, or if you wear the belt over layers of clothes or a neoprene belt.

To ensure the outer face of the leather and the stitching retain their original appearance, we would recommend using a regular black shoe polish once every 1-3 months. Polish directly onto the leather and then buff to a shiny finish. Avoid dropping or throwing the belt, as this can cause damage to the belt buckle

Lifting belts can be beneficial for heavy lifting, providing support to the lower back and core during exercises like squats and deadlifts. They can help reduce the risk of injury, especially for individuals with a history of back issues or when lifting very heavy weights.

A lifting belt provides support to the lower back and core during heavy weightlifting exercises such as squats and deadlifts. It helps stabilize the spine and increases intra-abdominal pressure, reducing the risk of injury by helping maintain proper form and alignment.

The difference between a 10mm and a 13mm lifting belt lies primarily in thickness and stiffness. A 13mm belt offers more rigidity and support compared to a 10mm belt, making it preferred by powerlifters and those lifting extremely heavy weights. However, a 10mm belt may provide sufficient support for general weightlifting and bodybuilding exercises while offering a bit more flexibility and comfort. The choice between the two depends on personal preference, lifting style, and the specific demands of your training routine.

You can start using a lifting belt when you begin lifting heavy weights that put significant stress on your lower back and core, typically around 80% or more of your one-rep max. It's important to prioritize learning proper lifting technique first and gradually increase the weight over time. Introducing a lifting belt can provide extra support and stability once you're lifting heavier loads, helping to reduce the risk of injury. However, avoid relying solely on the belt and continue focusing on building core strength through exercises like planks and squats. Consulting with a fitness professional can also help determine the right time to incorporate a lifting belt into your routine.

For beginners, lifting belts are generally not necessary initially. It's more important for beginners to focus on learning proper lifting technique, building foundational strength, and developing core stability before incorporating additional equipment like lifting belts. By gradually increasing the weight and focusing on form, beginners can strengthen their muscles and reduce the risk of injury without relying on a belt. Once they progress to lifting heavier loads and feel the need for extra support, they can consider incorporating a lifting belt under the guidance of a fitness professional.
